The art of fusion glass tiles

Can I bond with UV adhesives

Yes. Our products are designed for UV Bonding and come with smooth backs to allow a even bond. We recommend the use of our Fusion UV adhesive as it has increased flexibility and high levels of moisture resistance. As the Fusion tiles are manufactured using coloured glass which have varying levels of UV light transmission properties we strongly recommend that Fusion tiles are cured from the underneath. Are the tiles smooth on the back?

The Fusion and Fusion Lite tiles are polished on the back to ensure they are perfectly smooth. Our Vetro and Forma Vidrio tiles are not polished but are manufactured in a way that reduces the roughness.

Can I refuse the tiles to larger pieces of glass?

As the pieces are relatively small it is normally possible to "tack-fuse" to another sheet of glass without causing stress in the glass. However problems can occur when fusing two types of glass together with differing Coefficients of Expansion and we would recommend customers conduct their own tests as equipment and fusing cycles can vary from manufacturer to manufacturer. Our Forma Vidrio tiles are manufactured using a "float-compatible" glass and are the only product we would recommend for this application.

Can I have the tiles in different colours or designs?

If you have a tile you would like manufacturing as a custom item the minimum volume is 50 pieces and our sales office can normally quote prices within 72 hours. We can manufacture custom fused tiles manufactured from any of the Spectrum Glass fusable glass range. Lead times vary dependant on stock availability in our factory.

Why are bubbles in my tiles?

Our tiles are manufactured by melting various layers of coloured or clear glass and then when they cool down they re-anneal and "fuse" together. In this process air can get trapped between the layers and create bubbles in the finished product. This is part of the beauty of fused glass and is not deemed to be a fault in the product.
