Easing the ride on the LME rollercoster  Although lead prices have dropped in recent months to £750-850, after peaking at £1,909 in October 2007, we could now be facing another period of instability as the lead price rollercoaster once again gathers speed following a 28% rise on the London Metal Exchange (LME) during March. | 3M stop manufacture of Accentrim products | |
 After 10 years in the market 3M have decided that the continued manufacture of the Accentrim tape is no longer viable and have ceased production with immediate effect. As the key UK distributor for this product, and with almost 8 years of sales development with the product we are obviously disappointed that the products will no longer be available for our customers. When we heard about this change in policy from 3M we tried to secure a sizeable order so that our customers would not be affected immediately but due to manufacturing problems certain lines were unavailable. We do have stock of A/B 100 (bevel edge) in all sizes and A/B200 (V groove) in ýÓ (12mm) and ûÓ (19mm) but 1Ó (25mm) is unfortunately out of stock. We also have stock available for A300 and A400, which were introduced by 3M in 2005 as new products. Customers who believe they will have future requirements for any of the 3M Accentrim range are advised to place orders now as stock availability in the future cannot be guaranteed. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause to our customers but the decision was taken by 3M in the USA and was out of our control. |
