The latest decorative glass technology from RegaLead

new fusion glass accents

RegaLead is delighted to partner with Spanish specialists Vidriarte and Italian kiln manufacturer Tornati Forni to bring to the market the latest innovation decorative flat glass market – Fusion Glass.

This latest technique we are adding to our wide portfolio of glass decoration techniques allows you to fuse coloured glass directly onto float glass, so there is no requirement to purchase specialist and expensive base glass. VidriArte are the undisputed leader in the manufacture of float compatible art glass in Europe and we are delighted to have the opportunity to work with them. The size of the kiln - supplied by our partner Tornati Forni - would determine the size and volume you are able to produce, but as the fusing process is easier, you can produce larger volumes of work at a much faster rate. With VidriArte's unique materials and Tornati Forni's large scale kilns something that has traditionally been an artisan product now lends itself to industrial usage.

Araceli Hernández Durá, Director of VidriArte explains: "The process of fusing glass is so simple and works by superimposing stained, transparent, opaque or veined glasses to base glass through a melting process. Once the design is produced, the glass is cut and laid on float glass before it is then fused together at 840°C it in the programmable kiln. Float compatible Fusion glass opens up the possibilities for volume production of contemporary decorative glass at prices that are comparable with other techniques used in the UK market. Due to the specialist way in which we produce our art glass, complex images can also be etched out of the colour surface by sandblasting allowing customers to create highly cost effective designs with minimal labour. The initial equipment investment is low, and using float glass as the base keeps glass inventories down, making Fusion a fantastic addition to your decorative glass production."
